Miss Heather MK

Yes the two little girls you see here are all grown up and just had their 31st bday. That means Heather and I have been friends for 25 years. We met the first day of first grade and by the end of the week, after she had fallen asleep in her desk(body on the floor and head in the little side part) she was coming home with me.Heather came to my house in the morning and afternoon until about 5th grade when my mom had to have a series of surgeries. One day she didn't want to teeter totter and jumped off- sending it slamming down on to my foot. We swam countless hours at her condo, had bday parties for our cabbage patch kids and had matching coats in 3rd grade hers was of course purple. In 6th grade her mom broke my heart and moved her to Orem- just as we were supposed to go into Junior High. I love Heather so much- she has the driest sense of humor of anyone I know, she is a hard worker, she married a wonderful person and she is a dog lover. We got together last night with most of our close friends- Amy, Kelly Lindsey, Shannon, and Erin came down from Salt Lake. We went to Ottavios and had great food and wine- then we did a little dancing at the local tavern he he. It was a fun night. Our entertainer( not what you think) an accordion player did his best to take the group photo, he was standing a bit far away- but I am glad I have a picture. I hope we can celebrate every year like this- having Heather as a fellow Cancer is the best part of my birthday.

Favorite Memory Game

Favorite Memory Game
Let's play:
1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. If you don't want to play on your blog, or if you don't have a blog, I'll leave my memory of you in my comments.

3. If you can't say anything nice, don't comment. If you do, I'll delete it OR point out what a jerk you are! (he he)

Yes- they have a section called chocolate milk

Warning the below post may come across really gross to some readers!!
I turned 31 this past Monday and after my fun trip to Capitol Reef I had one more day off of work. After getting my drivers license renewed, and a few hours at Veterans pool, Cassidy and I headed up to West Jordan City's sewer plant where the love of my life is employed. Since Big N was made GF he has been telling me about the projects and big job he is working on to make the city of West Jordan ah hem, a better place to pee. Cassidy and I decided to go eat lunch with him since we hardly ever make it to his job site. Hard hats and visitors badges in tow we learned how the waste travels through the many rooms and machines(all wired by Big N) There is the place where "it" comes to the facility, a building at the end called the dryer and yes there is a section called chocolate milk (if we couldn't laugh we would all go insane). I'm trying to keep this light but truth be known I love big N and I appreciate his hard work even though it seems like a horrid place to go everyday. He says he likes it and he learns something new everyday. Look at it this way, in a time of economical scare- The city of West Jordan is keeping him in a job.We would all go without many things before a good sewer system- am I right? Thanks for the great bday!
p.s. lunch was eaten at a really nice restaurant down the street-not at a the job site.

Capitol Reef

My gals and I took a trip to Capitol Reef this past week. My friend Kara's family has a house in Fremont, which is in Wayne county and about 25 minutes away from the Capitol Reef park. We went for 3 or 4 bike rides and a great hike. We stayed in this cute little house. It was a little bit different than our usual trips. We usually go somewhere like Vegas. We could grab treats out of the fridge if we we were hungry, we had horses in the yard and the world as our playground. It was fun to sit on the porch and have a drink and listen to the quiet... it was really quiet. Kara, Amy, Sharon, Shannon, and Shanna along with myself make up the photo above. Kara is really into bike racing these days, and Shanna is a spin class instructor along with bike enthusiast. They are hard core but I like to think I can semi keep up with them on the rides around town. I learned a lot- I know my bodies limits, I know my way around Wayne County, and I now know how to change those big long sprinklers out in the fields you see as you travel down the road. It was fun to be with everyone even if for a day or two. We did have a little drama, Shannon had car problems in Sigurd and had to leave her car(more to come) I hope it works out. We ate at a great restaurant in Torrey named Cafe Diablo. I would recommend spending the dough for a nice dinner if your ever in the area. I love these ladies and I hope we can do it again next year.
PS- thank you to Kara for all your hard work- you made the trip really nice.

Not a creature was stirring- especially not me.

The other night I had a hard time getting the kids calmed down and put to bed. I'm the opposite of most people, I love the winter and dislike the summer months. I get so tired in the heat, I don't sleep at all. So... this night I gave up and went to bed while the kids were still up- after four nights you finally just go to bed. When I woke the next morning, and went to get Cass this is what I saw. Coby had made a fort with a bed for him and Cass- they had watched a movie and even had popcorn( I was oblivious). At first I was a little bothered they were not in their beds- but then I just had to take the moment in- they had bonded, they did something on their own without me, and they did a great job! Everything was just fine. Maybe they do love each other?
