Trip to Napa

Our last day. We didn't have much time but we drove to Sonoma Valley and visited Buena Vista. We didn't do a tasting because we were driving to the airport. It was nice to walk around the grounds of one of the oldest places. Sonoma was worth the trip.

The next 5 or 6 posts are our trip to Napa. We went for our 10th Anniversary. I don't usually post so much but the last time Nate and I did something like this was our Honeymoon. They are a little out of order, something is going on with the computer,

Baldacci, our day to relax

As you can imagine our ten hour day wore us out. Baldacci was just what we needed. This was by far the most relaxing place we visited. $10.00 for the both of us and we sat for what seemed like hours. This was another small family place( the best kind). Jessica was smart and down to earth, she would pour us almost full glasses and leave us alone. Relaxing... We also took a drive up to Alexander Valley, how nice to take a drive.

Paoletti, the best wine Italy offers in California(my opinion)

Paoletti. An Italian Winery run by a very Italian man. Gianni. This place had the best wine in my opinion. I am ready to call Gianni right now and have him ship me a box. This was a cave winery as well, so inside this Tuscan wonderland were halls of caves that Gianni had marble scultptures displayed with wine barrels. Big N picked his favorite. The last picture is of our FUN group, we couldn't of asked for more awesome people to spend a 10 our day with.

The Castle

Castello di Amorosa. This was a stunning castle, but it was soooo busy we didn't enjoy much wine tasting which is what we were there to do. I didn't love the wine either. I loved the more intimate places with no crowds.. but it was still fun and worth seeing.

Arger-Martucci

The 2nd Stop on our tour was Arger -Martucci. This was a family owned/farmed winery. This is where we had lunch. This is our host Chris, and lord...was Chris cute. This picture does not do him justice, there was an older lady in our tour group who was ready to move in with Chris. Out of all places we went he was the smartest, it was like taking a class on farming, irrigation and politics all in one. I loved that we were at his house and that Big N played with Chris's dog while we listened. The wine was really good, we ended up buying a bottle on the spot and having it at lunch. This is the first place I would go if I went again.

Peju- The first stop of our tour

The 2nd winery we went to was Peju. It was the first stop of our tour we booked. The tour was fun, and it was nice to have someone drive us. Peju was a pretty big place, it had georgous grounds. The wine was not as good as Bourassa.

Napa- Bourassa Vineyard

This was our first stop. Bourassa, and it's owner Kathy, this was our most intimate, we had the place to ourselves and she took over an hour with us, lit us candles and gave us privacy. For our first wine tasting, I don't think we could of asked for a better experience

10 years-Napa here we come

Wow, ten years. N and I have a trip planned, so hopefully I won't forget my camera. Our 9th year was a fun year, we took our kids on 2 trips, one to Red-fish lake and one to So. Cal. We upgraded to a king bed(woo-hoo!), we have had ups and DOWNS in the carreer dept., we have one year under our belt with a teenager, we have planted our 2nd garden, we started jogging, and we are going to re-start jogging. I can't say enough about him, here is to 40 more!

warning: I can't be held responsible for the halloween photo, or that I am wearing the same head band in more than one photo.
